Take Heart, He Has Overcome the World

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

As I was reading my Jesus Calling devotion this morning, this scripture verse was referenced. Author Sarah Young wrote, "Instead of desperately striving to maintain order and control in your little world, relax and remember that circumstances cannot touch My [Jesus'] Peace."

That really struck me. It reminded me of when people come in to Memories of Home and comment, "It's so peaceful in here." I smile, give God a little wink and, after thanking them for the compliment, will usually give credit where credit is due. "I think it may have a lot to do with the subject of the merchandise."

You see, where there is Jesus, there is peace. People are so bombarded with noise and chaos these days that when there is unusual peace because of Jesus, it gets noticed. HE gets noticed.

Let's take heart because you and I have the opportunity to be peace in the world's state of unrest because we have access to the author of peace...Jesus. He has overcome the world.
